MedTrainer Hires Experienced Technology Executive Jonathan H. Wage as Chief Technology Officer
Former Alibaba Group firm CTO brings a breadth of experience as a software developer, project manager and business executive to growing healthcare innovator
REDLANDS, Calif. – Nov. 12, 2019 – MedTrainer, the creator of the only all-in-one compliance management suite, announces it has named veteran technology executive and software and systems engineer Jonathan H. Wage as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Wage, who previously served as CTO at OpenSky, an Alibaba Group acquired company, will be responsible for leading MedTrainer’s international product development teams.
Seeing significant growth over the past year, MedTrainer sought a top-level, experienced technology leader who could oversee the advancement of its compliance management suite and ensure that it continues to meet the expanding needs of the modern health practice—in functionality and usability. The company recognized that Wage possessed not only the right technical expertise, but also knowledge in business development and leading a multi-location, international team.
Steve Gallion, CEO, MedTrainer, said, “With Jon, we gain a hands-on leader who has extensive experience getting things done within rapidly growing companies and across the many layers of an organization. At MedTrainer, we have always strived to deliver the best possible solutions to help our clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory climate. Jon will be invaluable in translating this vision across to our development teams and through new product innovations.”
As CTO, Wage will manage MedTrainer’s development teams, including its software design & architecture hub in Querétaro, Mexico. Wage will also oversee the US technology operations while coordinating technology contractors and vendors. He will direct additional enhancements to the MedTrainer online platform, improving upon its tools for streamlining compliance, simplifying credentialing and managing regulatory training. Wage will focus on continued development of solutions that matter to primary care, long-term care, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care, community health centers and the many other healthcare segments that MedTrainer services.
On joining the company, Jonathan H. Wage, said, “I’m pleased to assume the role of CTO at MedTrainer, a company that embodies the passion and drive of its founders. I look forward to contributing to a culture of teamwork where change comes from the bottom up and the resulting innovation will help MedTrainer reach new heights of success by easing the compliance burdens of today’s healthcare organizations.”
Prior to joining MedTrainer, Wage worked for nearly 10 years at OpenSky, before, during and following its purchase by Alibaba Group. He started as a software engineer before being promoted to CTO. Wage not only oversaw all OpenSky technology projects, but also ran the product team and served as an executive liaison between the company’s various departments at offices across the globe.
In Wage’s spare time, he contributes to the Doctrine Project. Doctrine is an open-source project, home to a set of PHP libraries primarily focused on database storage and object mapping. Wage will be based in MedTrainer’s Nashville, Tennessee office, and work closely with other members of MedTrainer’s executive team, including CEO Steve Gallion and COO Jorge Fernandez. Wage’s appointment is effective immediately.
