Safety
This course provides an overview of safety standards that are mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), all required training, as well as injury and incident reporting. In addition, the course reviews awareness and protection from potential exposure to Tuberculosis and Hepatitis A, B, and C. The learner will also become familiar with the importance of a Hazardous Communication Plan (Haz-Com), which provides information and direction for the procurement, use, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals present in your workplace. Real life situations are presented to demonstrate the individual and team efforts needed to create a culture of safety in the workplace.

  • Review safe work practices including engineered controls, personal protective equipment, and personal responsibility.

  • Explain the essential components of an Injury and Illness plan, Hazard Communication plan as well as a Fire Prevention training requirements.
  • Learn about Regulated Medical Waste, the D.O.T. and universal waste.
