The definition of medical waste was defined by the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Medical Waste Tracking Act (MWTA) and is derived from the material from which it originated. This course covers the basic requirements for states in dealing with Regulated Medical Waste (RMW), which is also referred to as infectious or biomedical waste. Learners will gain an understanding of the classifications of waste streams, proper handling, segregation, and disposal. We also cover waste minimization and recycling techniques to measure and decrease the carbon footprint of your facility – no matter how large or small your organization is. At the conclusion of the course, learners will understand how to be 100% compliant and environmentally friendly.
