By 2050, the U.S. population of the “65 and over” age group will double. Families are not always able to care for their aging relatives or for those who need continual care or supervision, thus nursing homes are essential and provide the services necessary to keep residents healthy and comfortable. This course is intended for those who are new to the nursing home industry and want to know what to expect. An overview of nursing homes and the types of employees who work in nursing homes will be outlined, the types of services provided in a nursing home will be examined, and information for new employees, including primary job responsibilities and helpful tips to be successful, will be discussed.
