On January 7, 2020, after several cases of pneumonia appeared in Wuhan City, China, the Chinese authorities announced they had found a new virus, the COVID-19 Virus . The World Health Organization (WHO) was notified because when a new virus emerges, it is not known how it will affect humans. The first human case was identified in the United States on January 21, 2020. This course will provide an overview of the coronavirus, discuss the signs, symptoms, and mode of transmission of the coronavirus, review the timeline of the COVID-19 Virus, and review the management of a person suspected of having the COVID-19 Virus.
