This course will take advisement from the FDA and CDC, on best practices for hand washing. This course will cover why it is imperative for health care practitioner to hand wash by going over the names of bacteria, collective of bacteria (flora) that are linked to the spread of preventable diseases via touch. The effectiveness of thorough handwashing and correlating stats on how these measures can help prevent specific maladies will be covered in the course. An interactive component on how to properly handwash (as recommended by the CDC, ) will also be included in the course.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a global health emergency. The rapid and continuous spread of SARS-CoV-2 around the world has resulted in more than 75 million infections and more than 1.5 million deaths. The lack of effective therapeutics and vaccines has contributed to the rapid spread and high mortality and morbidity of COVID-19. The ongoing pandemic has resulted in significant disruption of socioeconomic and healthcare infrastructure around the globe. However, the recent and rapid advances in the development of COVID-19 vaccines will provide much-needed tools to control the pandemic. Furthermore, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of innovative vaccine technologies.
This course will discuss various COVID-19 vaccine development strategies. Additionally, the storage, handling, and administration guidelines of the currently available COVID-19 vaccines will be addressed. Course expiration date: 1/25/2026

After a period of furloughs, firings and remote work resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, many healthcare workers are now preparing for a return to their usual work arena. They will face new safety concerns and regulations, new career options and greater reliance on digital technology. Their return can be guided by government and hospital protocols, as well as tools for risk assessment and mitigation that could apply to any business that is re-opening.

History has shown that the arrival of an epidemic and the declaration of a pandemic forces quick technological advances to help the population. This activity looks at the technological advances that have occurred due to past epidemic and pandemic situations and those that are skyrocketing into the future as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pros and cons of the advances will be studied and short term versus long term technological effects will be discussed.

Course overview
This course provides a review of the in which ways infectious diseases spread and outlines environmental factors that can contribute to infectious transmission. The learner will be trained on pathogen survivability and oriented on appropriate preventive measures including the proper use of PPE.
Goal
This course is designed to equip health professionals with knowledge of infection control and safety standards specified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Course Overview
This course focuses on the significance of proper nutrition for the health and well-being of the elderly population. It covers topics such as the role of nutrition in disease prevention and management and addresses the risk factors associated with nutritional decline. It explores significant indicators of malnutrition and provides components and available tools for nutritional screening. Additionally, strategies for correcting or preventing malnutrition will be reviewed.
Goal
The goal of this course is to equip healthcare professionals with skills to identify the importance of nutrition in the elderly population and to effectively address indicators of malnutrition. Participants will be able to implement appropriate strategies to promote nutritional well-being and improve the overall health outcomes of elderly individuals. Course expiration date: 6/30/2025

Vaccines are recommended by the nations top doctors. Although vaccines are safe, vaccine-preventable diseases kill tens of thousands each year. In this course we will review pediatric immunizations and the recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, National Vaccine Advisory Committee Standards for Child and Adolescent Immunization Practice, and the evidenced-based strategies published by the Centers for Disease Control, the CDC, , and how these standards and strategies can be incorporated into the workflow at the provider level.

This course provides an overview of healthcare disparities and underserved populations along with the prevalence of healthcare disparities and reviews recommendations for addressing the problems. Course expiration date: 5/30/2025
