On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, CDER’s Office of Communication, Division of Drug Information (DDI) hosted a webinar titled: FDA Drug Topics: Protecting Patients – Pharmacists Requirements under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act. This webinar provided key requirements for dispensers (primarily pharmacies) under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) for enhanced drug distribution security for protecting patients from receiving illegitimate prescription drugs, such as counterfeit or stolen drugs. The webinar also reviewed current and future dispenser responsibilities under the law and highlighted FDA resources available to dispensers to educate themselves further and stay up to date on the latest DSCSA implementation.

This course provides essential safety training for long-term care (LTC) workers, focusing on accident prevention and injury reduction for both caregivers and clients. It covers best practices in back safety, lifting techniques, infection control, and emergency preparedness. Learners explore hazard recognition, home safety assessments, proper documentation, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This Mandated Reporter Training for Mental Health and Social Workers focuses on the specific issues, concerns and requirements of Pre- and Post-Licensed mental health professionals, counselors, and social workers.

This Mandated Reporter Training for Medical Professionals will focus on specific situations and concerns related to the evaluation of child abuse and neglect in a medical or healthcare setting. It is recommended for all healthcare professionals including nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, physicians, dentists, chiropractors, alternative health practitioners, physical therapists, and others.

The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) was originally enacted in 1946 and it waived the sovereign immunity of the United States for certain acts or omissions by federal employees that happened within the scope of their employment. Now, employees of eligible health centers may be deemed federal employees, gaining liability protections under the FTCA for acts or omissions that result in personal injury, including death, while performing medical, surgical, dental, or related functions. This course will cover program and eligibility requirements for qualifying health centers and their employees according to FTCA.

This course provides an overview of how ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) can prepare for and respond to emergencies. The types of disasters and emergencies ASCs need to plan for will be outlined in this course. Since ASCs typically do not have rapid response or code teams, certain procedures and equipment must be in place to properly respond to emergencies.
This course is designed to provide essential information about emergency preparedness in ASCs according to the federal and accreditation requirements.
